One 60ml beard balm and one 30ml beard oil, in our Black Cedar scent. Hand-crafted in small batches in Queenstown, in consultation with a clinically-trained AromaScience Practitioner to ensure the products are safe for cosmetic use.
Black Cedar is the one scented entirely with essential oils. No fragrance blend — cedarwood, black pepper, patchouli and palmarosa, and nothing else. If you're buying for someone who reads labels, this is the set.

Fragrance Notes
Cedarwood Atlas, black pepper, palmarosa and patchouli. Dry wood, a peppery lift, earth underneath. Woody and grown-up rather than sweet.
Beard Care Set FAQs
Do you use the oil or the balm first?
Oil first, into damp skin beneath the beard. Balm over the top once the oil has absorbed. The oil conditions; the balm gives shape and body.
Is this a good gift for someone with a new beard?
Yes. A short beard mostly needs oil, for the skin underneath, which is where the itch comes from. The balm becomes more useful as the beard grows and needs shaping.
Is it scented with essential oils?
Yes — entirely, and it is the only scent in our range of which that is true. The others use fragrance blends.
Is the set vegan?
No. The balm contains lanolin, from sheep's wool. The oil contains no animal ingredients.
Does it contain allergens?
The balm contains shea butter, from a tree nut. Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool and Farnesol are naturally occurring components of the essential oils, declared on the label. Full lists on the oil and balm pages. Patch test before first use.
How long will the set last?
Used daily and sparingly, roughly two months for the oil and rather longer for the balm.
Packaging
The balm comes in a recyclable 60ml amber glass jar. The oil comes in a recyclable amber glass dripolator bottle with a Tampertel wadded black cap — consistent drops, less waste, cleaner hands.
