Made in New Zealand

Cutthroat New Zealand® makes beard care, skincare and shaving products. Everything is made here, using high quality ingredients, and the beard range is handmade in small batches in Queenstown.

Tested at Gents Barber Shop

Our products were developed and tested at Gents Barber Shop in Queenstown, on real clients, in a working chair. That's an unglamorous way to build a product range and it's the reason the oils absorb rather than sit greasily, and the reason the shaving soaps have enough slip to work a straight razor.

Gents still stocks the range today.

Quality Control

We consulted a clinically-trained AromaScience Practitioner to ensure our products are safe for cosmetic use.

The beard oils and balms are built on two carrier oils. Jojoba is a liquid wax ester rather than a true oil, and closely resembles the sebum human skin produces naturally — which is why it absorbs so readily. Grape seed oil is light, non-comedogenic and a good source of vitamin E.

The balms add shea butter, candelilla wax and lanolin — the butter and the wax give shape, the lanolin conditions and holds moisture in.

None of it clogs pores. None of it will make your beard grow. It will make the beard you have look considerably better.

Packaging

Beard oil comes in recyclable amber glass dripolator bottles. Amber glass filters UV light, which protects the essential oils and fragrances inside and extends shelf life. The wadded black caps let the oil drop into your palm in consistently sized drops — less waste, cleaner hands.

Balms, waxes, soaps and skincare come in recyclable amber glass jars and pots.
