Sandalwood Pre-Shave Oil Made in NZ
A naturally scented sandalwood pre-shave oil that forms a thin coating over the skin before the blade arrives. It hydrates the skin and lets the razor glide, which is what reduces irritation and razor burn.
Scented with real Australian sandalwood essential oil — warm, soft and woody.
Suitable For
Double edge safety razors, straight razors and shavettes. Also fine under a cartridge razor.

Directions for Use
Before applying shaving cream or soap, rub a small amount of the pre-shave oil between your fingers and massage it into the skin. A few drops is enough. Then lather over the top as normal.

What does pre-shave oil actually do?
It lays a thin film between the blade and your skin. The razor glides over that film rather than dragging on bare skin, which is the main cause of razor burn.
Do you use pre-shave oil before or after shaving soap?
Before. Massage the oil in first, then build your lather over the top.
How much pre-shave oil should I use?
A few drops, worked between the fingers and massaged in. Too much and the lather won't take.
What does sandalwood smell like?
Warm, soft, creamy and woody. It's one of the classic barber shop scents, and it pairs naturally with our Sandalwood Shaving Soap.
Does it contain nut oil?
It contains argan oil, pressed from the kernel of the argan tree. If you have a nut allergy, speak to your doctor and patch test before use.
Is there an unscented version?
Yes — the Unscented Pre-Shave Oil, with no fragrance or essential oils at all.
