The clay is what makes this soap shave well. It gives the lather slip, laying a cushioning layer between the blade and your skin so the razor glides rather than drags.
Suitable For
All skin types. If your skin is easily irritated, pair the soap with a scented or unscented pre-shave oil for the smoothest shave.

How to Apply Shaving Soap
Wet a shaving brush with warm or hot water. Using circular motions, build a rich, creamy lather in a shaving mug or in the jar. Apply the lather evenly across the face before shaving. Rinse the razor blade regularly as you go.

Why does shaving soap contain clay?
Bentonite clay gives the lather slip. It forms a cushioning layer between the blade and the skin, which lets the razor glide instead of dragging — the single biggest factor in avoiding razor burn.
How do you lather shaving soap?
Wet a brush with warm water and work it into the soap in circular motions until you build a dense, creamy lather. A brush lifts the hairs upright as it works, which helps the blade cut cleanly.
Does this soap contain allergens?
It contains hydrolysed wheat protein and hydrolysed oat protein. If you have a wheat, gluten or oat sensitivity, check the full ingredient list below and patch test first.
Is shaving soap better than canned foam?
A soap worked with a brush gives a denser, more cushioning lather. Aerosol foams carry propellant, which can dry the skin.
